Why is it important for schools to actively seek and implant as many products and services under the ‘Renewable Energy’ umbrella?
- Parents in the 21st century understand the impact of climate change since they have witnessed its effects in their own lifetime e.g. 1970s oil crisis and also due to films like ‘An inconvenient Truth’.
- Parents today are genuinely interested in the subject of Renewable Energy, not least due to the above point, but also due to the ongoing exiting new research & developments in this field e.g. third generation technologies such as ocean energy, nanotechnology, biomass etc.
- Parents today understand that the field of Renewable Technologies will be a mayor source of work opportunities for their children’s future. This is the fastest growing sector worldwide.
- Parents want their children to go to schools that are up to date with this subject matter and forward looking, allowing for inter-active, live teaching methods with a working motto of leading, living and teaching by example.
- Schools will see additional education benefits for subjects such as Math, Physics & Chemistry due to implementing their own PV and Solar Thermal products for example into the classroom curriculum for these subjects.
- Monitoring systems for any renewable product implemented by schools will allow real time data feeds to be recorded and used as part of a learning tool for the modern and forward looking school.
- Data monitored and gathered will also be very useful for the DECC (Department of Energy & Climate Change) and other such organisations.
